As much as we try to avoid spamming our customers, it seems some folks out there like to spam us. We have seen a dramatic increase of unsolicited questionable emails coming into our general information account. This spam and junk mail is often malicious and includes untrustworthy attachments that contain malware, viruses or other damaging code. The info@ email address will be deleted shortly after its launch.
In its place we will introduce C.A.R.E.N, every bit of humor is intended in the use of this name. CAREN is our Contact Activated Reply Exchange Node. This will be a public facing generic email address for general use to help direct contact traffic. This point of contact account will auto-respond with an acknowledgement that genuine contacts for information from us will soon receive a response from the appropriate party based upon the content of their inquiry. By creating this account we are adding a level of protection for not only our website and IT/IS but also adds another layer of protection for any information that is shared with us – including your information.
For our customers, firstname.lastname@example.org will still be the best means to reach us concerning product orders, user account, product inquiries and anything else that can make your shopping experience with us a little better.
CAREN will be for the spammers. Those who are using bots to scrub for email addresses to send all sorts of incredible offers and opportunities; and malware. We will apply stricter SPAM filtering to block more potentially harmful mail, which means there is a chance we can lose out in honest contacts. Those typical generic addresses like info@ are often assumed to exist without even using a bot, which means our current general information account is overwhelmed with junk mail leaving what useful or even important contacts get lost in the flood.
CAREN will be introduced within a few days. The current general information email address will be closed 60 days after launch to give us time to re-direct any existing trustworthy contacts time to update their information on us and ensure they are using the best account for contacting us.
